This instituite was established on 29th July ,1968 under West Bengal vide G.O Number 1087-EDN(P) , dated:16.10.1968 . The Institute is affiliated by West Bengal Board of Primary Education and recognized by National Council of Teacher Education. Formerly it was named as “Radhanagr Junior Basic Training Institute” but by the order of Director of School Education,W.B vide memo no -911/Sc/P, dt-8/4/1991 it is named as “Salkia Govt. Spons Teachers Training Institution” .
